About Tom
Born and raised in San Diego, studied Economics at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After graduation, Tom worked for several years in the defense industry in corporate finance roles. He returned to school and obtained an MBA in Finance from Georgetown University.
Following business school, Tom was hired by an investment banking firm in London where he worked on M&A and capital raising mandates for clients in the energy and infrastructure sectors, mainly in emerging markets, and then worked for a Japanese bank lending to such projects. Tom left banking and founded an international trading company of specialty seeds and grains from South America, selling product across the globe.
After a successful exit from the business, Tom returned to San Diego in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic to care for his elderly father and brother with special needs and has since worked as a trustee and investor in commercial and residential real estate.
Tom founded Meridiem Fiduciary to serve others that lack the capacity or support to manage their own financial affairs. With his background as a business executive and real estate asset manager, Tom focuses on complex trusts and estates that hold such assets, in addition to Special Needs Trusts supporting those most vulnerable.
Tom has volunteered as a coach for Little League and youth basketball and has served as Cubmaster for his son’s Cub Scout Pack. Tom also volunteers his business knowledge to up and coming entrepreneurs with SCORE. Tom speaks conversational Spanish and Portuguese. In his spare time, Tom enjoys playing tennis, guitar and camping, and spending time with his wife and two children.
